Sushi, Asian Innovation, QQ, And The Digital Silk Road.
Benjamin Joffe of Plus Eight Star has put up his Powerpoint presentation from the recently completed OpenWebAsia08 conference in Seoul. The Powerpoint is entitled, "Collaboration Beyond Culture" and it is on innovation in Asia and the tendency of the West to ignore it, at its own peril. The presentation is quite persuasive, and as a sushi addict, I particularly appreciated Benjamin's inclusion of sushi as one of Asia's top inventions. Check it out.

Dan, thanks for your kind comments ^_^
About the sushi, it is more precisely a set of California Rolls, as an example of sucessful East-West collaboration :-)

Benjamin,
Even better point. Ten years ago, Japan had no rolls (I remember trying to get a chef to try to make a roll for me at the sushi restaurant in Oteru (supposedly one of the oldest in Japan), I had been frequenting for lunch and dinner every day for more than two weeks. He was non-plussed. Now it is possible, as things from the US are "returning" back.
Food can be great proof of collaboration and history, which is one of the reasons I love Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations show, as he is always talking about that.
