Everyone knows China is the most populated country in the world, but it is also first in a number of other things as well. But how many know it is also first in gold production? Brian Wingfield at Forbes discusses this and more in an article entitled, "China is No. 1." The article and its accompanying slide show put China first in the following:

Energy Consumption (soon)
Most Valuable Company (PetroChina)
