China Is Rising But Not There Yet

Interesting article in today's Los Angeles Times, entitled "China Urges Foreigners to Look Beyond Its Big Cities."   The article talks about how Chinese officials are now talking openly of China's rural poverty in an apparent effort to counter increased perception of China as an economic and/or military threat.
