The Little Red Book of Branding

Interesting little article today in Fast Company Magazine about branding in China.  The article, entitled, "The Little Red Book of Branding," makes two important points regarding branding in China, one of them law related.

The article discusses how the Chinese are focusing more on the brands of the goods they buy.  The more important the brand, the more important it is to protect the brand.  The best way to protect the brand is to trademark it.  Plain and simple.

The second point is that Chinese marketing is still relatively unsophisticated.  In an earlier post, called the Service Sectors Will Reign, we talked about the huge opportunities for foreign service companies in China.  Add marketing companies to that list.
